Serves as the Treasurer of Domestic Violence Survivors
Jody Shabazz
serves as the Treasurer of Domestic Violence Survivors, where he brings both professional responsibility and personal purpose to the organization’s mission. His commitment to this work is shaped by witnessing his mother experience domestic violence during his childhood, giving him early insight into the profound and lasting impact domestic violence can have on children and families.
Through this lived perspective, Jody understands how exposure to domestic violence in childhood can affect emotional well-being, stability, and life outcomes well into adulthood. This awareness fuels his dedication to supporting programs that prioritize prevention, healing, and long-term support for survivors and their families.
As Treasurer, he is committed to ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and sustainability so the organization can continue creating meaningful change for those impacted by domestic violence.
