Ayanna Thomas serves as the Board President of Domestic Violence Survivors, bringing powerful lived experience and a deep commitment to advocacy and recovery-focused leadership. As a survivor of domestic violence, Ayanna understands firsthand the profound impact abuse can have on young women and the long-term challenges that can follow.

Ayanna has navigated complex systems, including the criminal legal system and housing instability, and has successfully rebuilt her life through perseverance, accountability, and personal growth. Her journey informs her passion for creating pathways to healing, stability, and opportunity for others who are working to reclaim their lives after trauma.

Currently, Ayanna is pursuing her degree in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) studies, further strengthening her ability to support individuals impacted by trauma, addiction, and systemic barriers. As Board President, she is dedicated to survivor-centered leadership, advocacy, and ensuring the organization remains focused on empowerment, recovery, and sustainable change.
